This is Scout, a new way to collaborative resolve issues. Scout is the IOT Cloud platform of Circutor, a leader in HW manufacturing for Energy efficiency, energy metering and power quality monitoring. Circutor needed a new way to give insights to users using the data it’s meters collected, this is what Scout does.
There are two important concepts in Scout: Alarm Context and Workspace.
An alarm is not triggered on all events in Scout, alarms are only triggered for certain conditions and they might group a set of events. And an Alarm is not just a new line on your infinite list of alarms, Alarms have a new screen named “Alarm Context”, where each alarm is provided with a context.

Given the context the user can take one of those 3 actions:
- Discard: this is a false positive
- Close: this is a true positive, but it is something expexted or not interesting.
- New workspace: a new workspace is created to investigate the origin of the Alarm.

A workspace is a collaborative environment where users can share charts and their findings. Users can add as my charts as they want on each workspace. They can also add coments to give more information. They can share the workspace with colleagues or keep them as an internal investigation notebook. Once the issue has been investigated, the user can close the workspace and go for the next Alarm.
